Kathy Finkenbinder

Kathy Finkenbinder

Activity Director for 27 years, and married with two daughters and grandchildren. Outside of work I enjoy watching the grandchildren in their sporting events, sewing, crafts, gardening, yoga, livestock shows and 4H. Susan Mackinson, RN

Susan Mackinson, RN
Clinical Associate

Susie Mackinson, RN is a 'second career' nurse. Over the past thirty-five years, Mrs. Mackinson has had the distinct pleasure of raising her children while also managing a dairy operation. During this time, she was also a crop adjuster. Although wanting to be a nurse as a child dealing with health issues that ultimately resolved, she put those dreams aside while raising her family. "Once I started working here, that passion for becoming a nurse came back and I decided to go to nursing school while working in the bookkeeping office. And, it has been a dream come true," she says. Mrs. Mackinson is a well-known face to our residents and family members. In her personal time, she enjoys watching sports, exercising, spending time with grandchildren, and spending time outdoors. She can be reached at smackinson@pontiachealthcarerehab.com.

Julie Carter, RN

Julie Carter, RN
Director of Nursing

Julie Carter, RN has worked in healthcare for ten years. As a veteran nurse, she enjoys spending time with the residents she serves on a daily basis. As the Director of Nursing, Ms. Carter finds is critical and pleasurable to continue and further the knowledge of her team. She comes with a strong background in acute care, hospice/palliative care, and long-term care but confesses that long-term care is her passion. In her personal time, Ms. Carter enjoys reading a good book and traveling to new destinations. She is also an avid foodie and enjoys trying new recipes in the kitchen (but loves a good restaurant, too!). She can be reached at jcarter@pontiachealthcarerehab.com.

Sue Rinkenberger, CDM

Sue Rinkenberger, CDM
Director of Dining Services

Sue has worked in the long-term care field for 40 years, beginning as a 15 year-old high school dishwasher. She learned the true meaning of "Homemade with Love" from her grandmother who made pie crust with lard from the farm — what resident/family doesn't have a favorite recipe they love? Sharing hugs with those she serves is an important part of her day. Sue feels residents' choice with their meals in their "home" is very important. Sue works closely with the Registered Dietitian, Speech Therapist, and Wound Nurse to meet the residents' needs. Sue enjoys reading, counted cross stitch, helping out with local Relay for Life events, community food pantry, and spending time with family during her time off. Sue has a husband, three sons, a daughter-in-law, and a very precious grandson.

Steven Hendershott

Steven Hendershott
Medical Records Coordinator

Steven Hendershott has worked in long-term care for the past five years prior to accepting the role of Medical Records Coordinator. Working in customer service prior to entering the field, he truly understands the meaning of 'service'. He is often quoted saying that "providing service to our elderly and frail is empowering and rewarding." Five years ago, Mr. Hendershott began his career in nursing and loved every minute of it. He has partnered with Greenberg & Associates, a leading health information management firm.

Mr. Hendershott is a music lover, movie enthusiast, and enjoys literature – mostly a good book of murder mystery. He can be reached at shendershott@pontiachealthcarerehab.com.

Karen McMullen

Karen McMullen
Director of Social Services

Karen McMullen has served the long term care industry for over twenty years in social services. "I believe in the highest standards of ethics and strong values prevail in long term care," she is quoted as saying. A native of Streator, she is a lifelong resident of the region. Ms. McMullen is actively involved in the plan of care for residents to ensure the highest quality of services are available.

An outdoors lover, she can be found hiking, fishing, and flower gardening. She enjoys time with her family. And, of course she enjoys trying a few new recipes in the kitchen. Ms. McMullen may be reached at kmcmullen@pontiachealthcarerehab.com.
